The Cinekid Festival opens on October 12, 2025 with the world premiere of the youth film "Koning van de Zwervers" by director Janne Schmidt and screenwriter Eveline Hagenbeek. The film, which deals with complex themes such as homelessness and mental vulnerability, will be shown in Pathé Noord in Amsterdam. The production is a collaboration between The Media Brothers, BarraMedia and Caviar Belgium. The festival will take place from October 11 to 26 and will include screenings in more than 40 theaters in the Netherlands and Curaçao.
