Police Officer Supporting/Investigating Officer Age: 20s–40s Ethnicity: Any Character: A calm, composed and observant police officer responsible for taking Kenya's statement. The officer is professional, patient and quietly attentive, allowing Kenya to recount her experience without judgment. For much of the film, the officer is presented primarily as an off-screen interviewer, creating the feeling of a documentary-style interview. Their identity is deliberately concealed from the audience for most of the film. Looking for: An actor who can convey authority, professionalism and subtle curiosity with a restrained performance. MARK Antagonist Age: Late 20s Ethnicity: Dutch / European Character: Mark is Kenya's fiancé. Charming, calm and apparently caring, he appears concerned about Kenya's increasingly disturbing episodes. Whenever Kenya becomes frightened, Mark remains composed and always seems to have a rational explanation for what is happening. However, beneath his reassuring exterior is something much darker. Mark is ultimately revealed to be a psychopathic and manipulative character, making the contrast between his outward charm and his true nature central to the story. Looking for: An actor who can portray charm and warmth on the surface while subtly communicating something unsettling underneath. KENYA Lead / Protagonist Age: Late 20s Ethnicity: Black / Indian / Asian / Arab Character: Kenya is an intelligent and independent woman in her late 20s who has recently moved from South Africa to the Netherlands to start a new life with her fiancé, Mark. At first, she is happy and hopeful about their future together. But strange things begin happening at night — unexplained buzzes, nosebleeds and waking up in places she doesn't remember going. As the situation becomes increasingly disturbing, Kenya begins questioning what is happening to her and whether she can trust the person closest to her. My name is Marleen Baltus. I am Dutch, 39 years old, and live in beautiful Norway. Here in Norway, I have my own transcription and subtitling business. I am available for new clients and additional assignments, so I would like to ask if you could use a transcriber and/or subtitler. Because I work freelance, this can be a one-off, regular, occasional, temporary, permanent, for a project, and so on. No subtitlers needed right now, but maybe later? Feel free to write down my details. I now have over ten years of experience in transcription and subtitling and work for various companies in the Netherlands and Belgium. I have experience with all kinds of videos, such as corporate videos, product videos, afterfilms, webinars, vlogs, courses, interviews, and more. In addition, I have gained experience creating extensive subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing and writing video descriptions in Word. I work with a small group of clients. This allows me sufficient time for every assignment that comes in. The assignments I do are usually Dutch-Dutch. I can also speak English and Norwegian, but I am not a translator in these languages. I use SubtitleEdit for subtitling. I can deliver the subtitles as an srt file or another file format. For transcription or subtitling, you usually pay a fee per minute of audio/video, unless we agree otherwise. I create the transcription or subtitles manually, without AI, for an affordable price. The European Accessibility Act entered into force in June 2025. As a result, it is now even more important to provide videos with good subtitles. Automatic transcription or subtitling is an option here. However, I do not recommend this. It often does videos more harm than good. These topics are too broad to cover in this message, but if you would like to know more about them, we can certainly discuss it. Even though I live abroad, I am very easy and quick to reach. I generally respond to email quickly. Almost always within an hour, often within 10 minutes. When an order comes in, I always send a confirmation so that you know whether I have received the order correctly and when I expect to be able to send the files.
