George Freriks will step down as director of the Audiovisual Federation of the Netherlands (AFN) on September 1 and will be succeeded by Stephan Luiten. Freriks, who will be 68, wants to focus on other matters. Under his leadership, the AFN grew and the sector became strongly represented. Luiten, with experience in policy advocacy and advocacy, wants to increase the sector's visibility and relevance in The Hague. He has a background at Liberty Global and was involved in European legislation.
