Jikke Lesterhuis will present her short animated film "Wad Is, Is Now" at the 2025 Netherlands Film Festival. The film highlights the fragile food chain in the Wadden Sea, depicted as a bird restaurant where a human foot disrupts the balance. Lesterhuis chose stop-motion to make the vulnerability of the Wadden Sea landscape tangible. The film, which will also be shown in Vue cinemas, warns of the impact of human activity and climate change on this unique ecosystem.
