Singer and actor Gerard Cox has died at the age of 85 from metastatic esophageal cancer. He chose not to undergo treatment. Cox, known for the hit "It's Weer Voorbij Die Mooie Zomer" (It's Back Again, That Beautiful Summer) and the series "Then Happiness Was Very Ordinary," passed away at his home in Mijnsheerenland. He went public with his illness in August and spoke about his sudden deterioration in late July. Cox was also married to Joke Bruijs and retired from theater acting in 2021.
