Ilse Hughan, who worked as Artistic Producer with Lisandro Alonso on all his films after La Libertad, returns to the core of that debut with Double Freedom, in which lumberjack Misael is once again central but this time is confronted with caring for his older sister. Hughan proposed this care theme from personal experience, as did DoP Cobi Migliora, who is also a caregiver. After the extensive production of Eureka, the duo consciously opted for a small, trusted crew, with support from the Berlinale World Cinema Fund. Additionally, Hughan and Alonso are working on a remake of Taste of Cherry, starring Wagner Moura, which they will deliver for Cannes 2027.
