On May 8, Bert Goessen passed away. As director of Cinecitta in Tilburg and the driving force behind distributor Mooov, he brought art films to the Dutch public for decades. His film career began at the Tilburg Film League, where he also organized five editions of the Brabant Film Festival in the late 1970s. In the early 1980s, he opened Cinecitta together with Frans van Beek, which opened its doors with Jean-Luc Godard's Prénom Carmen (1983). After the sale of the cinema in 2012, Goessen remained a programmer until 2015, after which he focused entirely on Mooov, which released films such as George Ovashvili's Corn Island and César Augusto Acevedo's Horizonte.
