At the age of 66, Sybren Hofstra makes his debut as a film actor in the lead role of *Sultan van Bercoop*, the new film by Steven de Jong, in which he plays Bauke, a retired man who rediscovers his passion for cycling through two mysterious women. Hofstra, with forty years of stage experience, heard about the film adaptation from his neighbor and author Johan Veenstra and signed up, after which he underwent six months of training at the Filmkerk Wolvega. De Jong taught him to minimize film acting, because the camera makes every thought process visible. Editing is currently underway and the premiere is scheduled for November 12.
