'Huurman & Huurman' is an absurd comedy that pushes the boundaries of what is "normal" with a nod to acceptance.
My name is Mart Buurman and I am graduating with this film from the Dutch Filmers Academy in Eindhoven.

The film is set in an episode of the comic book series Huurman & Huurman.
When the irresistible Mrs. Trusiaan loses her 'sweetheart', she calls in the help of Huurman & Huurman, who immediately think this is their moment to impress her. But instead of heroism, they end up with the sinister Lans Groot: a mysterious criminal identified as a banana slug who is always just a little bit too smart for the rent men.

My favorite humor is humor that is very impulsive and comes out of nowhere. Unexpected twists in combination with situations that make no sense, is the best humor for me. That is also why Everything Everywhere All At Once is one of my favorite films. In addition, the biggest source of inspiration for this film is of course Buurman & Buurman! To emphasize that the story takes place in a comic book, comic-style animations are added inspired by the film Pilgrim VS The World and the music video of Houdini - Eminem.
