Ruwe Haren starts from the idea of basic needs; when you are out in nature, your needs are quickly reduced. The only things you are concerned with are where you are going to sleep and what you are going to eat. With this idea in mind, I set off for this film. Lander (23) takes his younger brother Noa (10) on a canoe trip in the Dutch nature reserve the Biesbosch. The two brothers do not actually know each other very well because Lander left home at a young age. With this holiday, Lander tries to reconnect with Noa and fulfill his role as a brother. Along the way, Noa meets Vika (11), who is staying at her grandfather's farm and helps keep the farm running. She moves the cows between pastures and helps where necessary. Noa is impressed by Vika and secretly looks up to her.

Vika is adventurous, independent, and not easily impressed by others.
