We are working on a surreal/Lynchian film about the loss of passion and ambition:

At the end of the hallway leading to the toilets in a nightclub sits a restroom attendant. Her frustrations begin to build when she sees a girl with the same passions she once had commit suicide.

The story is told from the perspective of the restroom attendant. She has lost her passions while rotting away in a dead-end job, and recognizes a part of herself in the ambitious young woman. The restroom attendant is both the protagonist and the antagonist, because she is at war with herself.
The film is set in the restrooms of a nightclub, where the world feels strange and slightly disjointed. The restroom attendant is literally fused with the toilets and sees/feels everything that happens. The film has no dialogue and relies entirely on visuals and sound design.

What do we offer?
This is a student production from the Film Education Minor at Fontys in Eindhoven. We are a motivated and committed group of students working together on our first film project.

Reimbursement of travel expenses is possible upon consultation. Additionally, we provide catering on the filming days.

What are we looking for?

For this experimental short film, we are looking for strong, layered actors who can combine emotional depth and physical expression. We are also looking for all kinds of people as extras.

Toilet attendant (main role)
Female, playing age ± 45–65 years
Can switch between a cold, sometimes dreamy look and anger
Strong facial expressions and subtle acting; carries the perspective of the film.
Ability to make inner struggle and suppressed emotions palpable without much dialogue

Supporting roles:

Ambitious girl
Female, playing age ± 20–30 years
Very expressive and physical acting; emotions lie close to the surface
Can convincingly portray exhaustion, frustration, and obsessive ambition
Must be able to show a palpable transformation from hope to despair

Supervisor of ambitious girl
Female, playing age ± 20–30 years
Natural self-confidence and aura of privilege
Subtle play in which superficiality and learned toughness come together
Able to credibly let underlying pressure and conditioning shine through

We are looking for actors who feel comfortable working without dialogue, within a slightly surreal world.
