Maktoub is a raw, intimate, and urgent short film, based on real experiences, about 13-year-old Anouar, who grows up in a violent home situation in Morocco and eventually decides to flee to Europe.


The film will be shot entirely in Morocco, where we are collaborating with great line producers there: www.shoufou.film/nl. We will be shooting with a mix of Dutch and Moroccan crew (approximately 50/50). There will also be a local 3rd AD who knows the working methods there well and speaks English.

What do we offer?
We work with a budget that allows us to put on a beautiful and professional production, but unfortunately, it is a budget that makes it difficult to cover reimbursements.

Flight tickets, accommodation, local transport, and catering are, of course, fully arranged.

For the social-realist short film Maktoub, directed by Mamoun Elyounoussi and Kilian Brons, we are looking for a driven First Assistant / 1st AD with experience, who thrives on a challenging international production like this one.

Timeperiod
We are filming in Morocco from June 12 to 17. For the Dutch crew, the plan is to fly there on the evening of June 9 and back on the morning of June 18.

Job requirements / profile
You have experience, speak English, and are also available during pre-production for a few meetings.
