Maktoub is a raw, intimate, and urgent short film, based on real experiences, about 13-year-old Anouar, who grows up in a violent home situation in Morocco and eventually decides to flee to Europe. The film is shot entirely in Tangier, Morocco.

What do we offer?
We are working on an ambitious low-budget project in which a close-knit Dutch and Moroccan crew collaborates on an urgent fiction film with international appeal. Although there is unfortunately no room for compensation, we do offer strong substantive experience within a professional fiction production, significant creative involvement, and the opportunity to build international credibility within a project of societal relevance.

This role will largely take place remotely from your own workspace during post-production.

Description
We are looking for a driven Assistant Editor to oversee the technical and organizational backbone of post-production. This position is interesting for someone who wants to gain experience in fiction, has the ambition to grow into an editor, and would like to add an international fiction production to their CV.

- Experience with editing and post-production workflows
- Structured and technically strong
- Experience with Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve
- Ability to work independently
- Interest in fiction and storytelling
- Ambition to advance within editing and post-production

Timeperiod
The shooting will take place from June 12 to 17 in Morocco. Your work will start shortly thereafter and continue during the editing period. We are therefore looking for someone who is flexibly available from June 22 through the end of July / beginning of August.

Job requirements / profile
- Monitoring a clean and consistent post-production workflow between the various post-production departments (sound, VFX, etc.)
- Organizing and structuring all footage
- Creating and managing proxies
- Preparing project files for the editor
- Managing exports and version control
- Assembling a trailer
- Adding titles/credits and motion graphics
