synopsis Lovingly Nelly (48) day in and day out takes care of her mother Virginie (75). Unfortunately for Nelly the mother continuously reacts by offending her daughter. Because she did not cut off the bread crusts. Or because Nelly's nails are too long. Night after night Nelly recovers from these attacks, looking at her favourite telenovela, crying for other people's problems. Per charge of Virginie, Nelly's resistance grows.
Kacem, is an applicant for asylum, who already is waiting six years for an answer on his asylum request. Kacem occasionally makes music in the vicinity of Nelly's bus shelter. Kacem injures himself in a collision with a bus. Nelly meets Kacem at her bus stop. Nelly takes care of him. Gratefully he gives her an origami swan. They feel at ease with each other. The keep on meeting. When Nelly's television crashes one day, Kacem fixes it. For Virginie he is an intruder. She forbids Nelly to let him enter ever again. More than ever Nelly feels trapped in her family home. When Kacem gets the message the asylum request of his sister in Spain is approved, he decides to go there. He wants to tell it to Nelly. Because at that time Nelly is not at home, he leaves behind a note with that message. When Nelly comes home Virginie pretends / tells she swallowed the note. Nelly kills her, before finding the note. Nelly reads the note and takes the bus with an unknown destination.
