Alex Pitstra (1979) studied multimedia, communication and film theory and then focused on making films. He works on various commissioned films, but also on his own projects. His debut film Die Welt (2012) was nominated for a Golden Calf (screenplay) and the subsequent documentary Bezness as usual (2016) was broadcast by VPRO and selected for the film festival in Locarno. In both films, Alex explores his Tunisian roots.
