Twan started his TV career as a tape operator at Valkieser and developed there into an avid editor before spreading his wings.
As a Self-Directing Editor, he has developed extensively over the past ten years and worked with a range of acclaimed directors and editors, including
Steffen Haars and Flip v/d Kuijl (the Pulp show, precursor New Kids, drama), Doke Romeijn (Backlight, documentary) and Mark Zegeling (Behind Closed Doors, scripted reality).
In 2008 he started his master's degree at the prestigious London Film School under the guidance of Mike Leigh (Happy go-lucky, Mr Turner) and successfully completed it in April 2012. During this training he wrote voice-overs for several documentaries, a skill that served him well during the editing of Achter Geclosed Deuren and Idols WorldWide, for which he also partly wrote the voice-overs.
Twan is currently writing the script for his first feature film "a Beautiful Knightmare" together with the Irishman West Conolly.
