Ronald Marinakis is a passionate self-taught filmmaker and professionally trained actor.
He studied audiovisual arts at SintLucas, which marked the beginning of his love for visual creation. In 2019, he transitioned to acting by giving the acting program in Amsterdam a try.
In 2022, he graduated cum laude as Best of Class from the Amsterdam Film Actor Academy. This motivated him to rediscover his love of storytelling and filmmaking. In 2024, he made his directorial debut with his short film JUNGLE.
JUNGLE was screened and acclaimed both nationally and internationally. After the film screened in New York among Oscar-shortlisted short films, he knew his passion for filmmaking was in the right place. This led to his participation in the QISSA Lab talent program, in collaboration with Netflix.
Currently, Ronald is taking bigger steps within the Dutch film industry and is already working on realizing new stories with broadcasters such as the NPO
