The Movies that Matter Foundation wants to touch the public, opinion leaders and policy makers with film and raise awareness of human rights and situations in which these rights and human dignity are at stake.

Movies that Matter organizes, among other things, the international film and debate festival of Amnesty International in The Hague (Movies that Matter Festival, formerly Amnesty International Film Festival), the monthly Movies that Matter film program in Dutch film theaters and a national education programme.
The foundation is supported by Amnesty International, DOEN Foundation and Hivos-NCDO Cultuurfonds.
