Sterkamp is a unique holiday camp for insecure children from 8 to 12 years old. Due to their insecurity, these children display withdrawn or provocative behaviour. In order not to let them fall victim to this in the future, Stichting De Ster organizes super fun children's camps.

A professional team works on the self-confidence, social resilience and assertiveness of the children in a fun and child-friendly way. The daily recurring social skills training, exercise lessons and role-playing are the basis of the program. There are also plenty of camp activities such as; fox hunting, building huts, treasure hunts, water fights, animal sound game, etc. Fun, friendship and positivity are central.

We are looking for enthusiastic actors/actresses, aged 21 or older, who enjoy guiding the role plays. On a voluntary basis you will go on a week-long camp and not only the children but also you yourself will be a fantastic experience richer!

The team consists of 2 psychologists, 2 actors, 2 movement experts, 7 all-round supervisors and 2 main supervisors. Together they give 30 children the support they so desperately need. Each counselor has 2 or 3 mentor children at camp with whom he/she will set personal goals during the mentoring moment. The development that the children make is enormous and the results we achieve together are heartwarming.
