Deadline January 27, 2012
In partnership with Binger Film Lab & Nederlandse Film en Televisie Academie
In 2006 CinemAsia Film Festival organized the first CinemAsia FilmLAB in order to stimulate media production within the local Asian community in Holland. The incredibly positive response affirmed the need for more representation of Asians on the screen and in the media. Since then, Cinemasia FilmLAB has produced 9 short films. This year CinemAsia Film Festival is proud to once again present the 2012 CinemAsia FilmLAB program.
This year we ask participants to submit a proposal that pertains to the sub festival theme:
'GenerAsian'
The ways how one maintains family relations, taking care of older generations, raising children, gives a good perspective in the private lives of a culture. Many Asians grow up in large families, surrounded by more generations and an endless amount of 'uncles'and 'aunts' and grandparents that are living in. With this theme CinemAsia explores several ways of family affairs and connections of the Asian Diaspora.
