Wristcutters, a Love Story
dir. Goran Dukic (US / Eng 2006, 88 min)
Thursday 8 January, 20.15 hrs
Location: Auditorium, level 1
Zia is distraught over the break up with his girlfriend and decides to end it all. Unfortunately, he discovers there is no real end; his afterlife is strikingly similar to his previous life, only a bit worse. Discovering his ex-girlfriend has also “offed” herself, he embarks on a road trip with a Russian rocker to find her. With a cameo apperarance by Tom Waits, \'Wristcutters, a Love Story\' is an unusual, intelligent, morbidly wacky and razor sharp comedy packed with absurd twists and black humour.
Nominated for the Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize. Winner of the audience award at the Winsconsin Film Festival, the Philadelphia Film Festival and Ashland Independent Film Festival.
