Afstudeerfilm : een visuele en sensorische etnografie van het lichaam na de dood, gedoneerd aan de wetenschap en voorbereid voor het behoud. Het onderzoekt de status van visie en haar relatie tot de andere zintuigen. De film bevraagt de menselijke zoektocht om de lichamelijkheid van het vlees te overwinnen en onze eigen sterfelijkheid ontkennen.
De film is een voorstelling van een wetenschappelijke ritueel waarbij niet het leven van de persoon die wordt gevierd, maar de achtergebleven fysieke resten.

'This is a very challenging and ambitious project that tackles the physicality of death -- stripped off the accruements of funeral rites and other rituals developed in the western society to disguise death, to make it something in opposition to, or at least separate from, life.
It’s an excellent film on a number of levels. It’s relentlessness and refusal to let go off the viewer, but without crossing the boundary into being gratuitously graphic, are to be highly commended. As is the fact that you have managed to secure that level of access.
I think you should continue the conversation with the mortuary and try to convince them to allow you to submit the film to festivals. I imagine it would do very well on the circuit.'

It is a difficult watch even for the least squeamish of audiences, but the formal and detached precision of your framing coupled with an interesting use of sound and an extremely compelling subject matter showcase a unique and highly gifted filmmaker. If you do gain approval from your contributors you should seek to enter this film into as many film festivals as possible, because it is worthy of awards.'
