My name is Mike Phillips Gomez and I am a student at UvA in my last semester in the MA Film Studies program. With my affinity for cinema, storytelling and hustling for what I believe in, I want to work with in the lion's belly of film production and development in order to learn, grow and build in the industry of big ideas with dedicated creators crazy enough to make it happen.
I am a New Yorker living in Amsterdam for over two years. Before pursuing film academically, I earned my undergraduate degree in illustration and design. After that, I trained as a theatrical actor. My varied work experiences range from freelance artist, performer, nightlife sound and light tech, dog handler, bartender and mail truck packer. Such a track record has allowed me to be very hands on, build tough skin, think outside the box and lend a hand wherever and whenever needed. Smooth communication and collaboration are my strong suits, diligence and commitment are my pride. Ultimately, my goal is to create and produce independent narrative films.
