After seventeen years, Sylvia Brandsteder is stepping down as director of VEVAM, an organization that manages copyright fees for directors. Under her leadership, VEVAM has grown into a self-confident directors' organization. She will be succeeded by Caspar de Kiefte, effective February 1, 2026. Brandsteder, who previously worked at BumaStemra, guided VEVAM through turbulent times, including a significant restructuring and securing fees from cable revenues and video on demand. Her dedication has been praised by colleagues and board members.
