A majority of the House of Representatives supports a motion to establish four broadcasting houses and a subsidiary broadcaster for NOS and NTR, known as the 4+1 system. This plan, proposed by D66, VVD, and CDA during a media budget debate, aims to restructure the current eleven broadcasters and two subsidiary broadcasters by 2029. The GL-PvdA party also supports this plan but remains critical of a planned €156 million budget cut. The final decision is expected from the successor of outgoing media minister Gouke Moes.
