At the 55th edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Jason Jacobs and Devon Delmar's "Variations on a Theme" won the Tiger Competition. Rezwan Shahriar Sumit's "Master" triumphed in the Big Screen Competition. The Tiger Award, worth €40,000, went to "Variations on a Theme," a film about a poor community in South Africa. Special Jury Awards were given to Angelica Ruffier's "La belle année" and Ana Urushadze's "Supporting Role," which also won the FIPRESCI Award.
