Amit Palgi and Matunda Groenendijk are presenting their VR work Cycle as the world premiere in the XR Experience Competition at SXSW in Austin, after two years of development, including one year of production. The two met at Cinedans Fest and developed the project at the Future Storytelling Lab in Arnhem, where they experimented with motion capture. Palgi created the choreography and dance, while Groenendijk designed the digital environment. Viewers choose their own sequence through the fifteen-minute experience via three keywords. Thematically, it revolves around repetition and existential patterns, resulting in a fundamentally different experience for each viewer.
