Research from Ampere Analysis shows that non-English-language series will for the first time make up the majority of all new Netflix Original TV seasons by 2025, increasing from 49 to 52 percent. Spanish remains the dominant non-English language at 21 percent, while Korean productions grew strongly from 12 to 20 percent. Japanese Originals, on the other hand, declined from 6 to 4 percent, as Netflix relies primarily on acquired titles such as anime. Ampere analyst Rahul Patel concludes that local productions play a central role in the international growth strategy, although the majority of the production budget still goes to English-language content.
