De Pont Museum and film theater Cinecitta are jointly presenting a retrospective of Steve McQueen, with De Pont showing the exhibition Atlas until August 30 and Cinecitta programming five films until April 30. The exhibition comprises four works, including the new Atlas, the video installation Sunshine State (2022), and the photo series Bounty (2024), which juxtaposes the beauty of Grenada with its colonial history. The film retrospective includes 12 Years a Slave, Hunger, The Occupied City, Widows, and Shame, among others, which each address societal structures and historical injustice. McQueen is also receiving the Erasmus Prize this year and will be present at De Pont on April 16 for an interview.
