Marjolein Busstra has won the Best International Feature Documentary award at Hot Docs in Toronto with House of Hope, which comes with a cash prize of $10,000. The film follows Palestinian Manar, who takes in a new generation of children through her House of Hope school while trying to maintain her optimism despite the ongoing Israeli occupation and the genocide in Gaza. The jury described the film as "powerful and unsentimental" because it portrays the daily resistance of teachers who resolutely hold on to hope. House of Hope is currently available to watch via NPO Start.
