Director Oeke Hoogendijk has been filming since July 2019 for her documentary *Operatie Nachtwacht*, in which she documents the restoration of The Night Watch at the Rijksmuseum together with DoP Sander Snoep and sound engineer Mark Wessner. The shooting takes place inside the glass display case that keeps the public seven meters away from the painting, while the restoration team continues working undisturbed. Hoogendijk does not focus exclusively on the restoration itself, but also follows special moments such as accessible tours for visitors with dementia or a visual impairment. She works completely independently of the museum and describes herself as a "house filmmaker," emphasizing that the end result will not be a promotional film.
