In the first months of this year, streaming services surpassed traditional television providers in terms of revenue for the first time, with video-on-demand generating €301 million compared to €291 million for television packages. Revenue from streaming grew by 10 percent, while that from television declined by 3.5 percent. Netflix contributed significantly to this through a price increase in November, causing subscribers to pay a few euros more per month. Ziggo, which holds only 27.7 percent of the market despite a more extensive sports offering for premium members, and KPN are seeing their subscriber numbers decline, while Videoland, HBO Max, and Disney+ are growing faster than market leader Netflix.
