The Creative Industries Fund and the Netherlands Film Fund have selected ten projects in the first round of 2026 under the Immerse\Interact Scheme, which supports immersive and interactive media productions in the fields of VR, MR, and AR. Nineteen out of 41 applications were positively evaluated, with the available budget of €500,000 determining which ten projects would actually receive funding. The selected projects explore themes such as grief, identity, and memory through various technologies, with The Opposite of Being by Studio Nergens investigating identity formation, Bring Me In by Affect Lab focusing on ambiguous loss, and The Cowan Paradox and Other Inconveniences by Studio Sjef van Beers critically questioning automation. Two new rounds will follow in 2027.
