Actor Cees Geel passed away on Tuesday morning at the age of 61 from cardiac arrest. Geel gained widespread fame for his role in *Simon*, directed by Eddy Terstall in 2004, which earned him a Golden Calf. He also won a Musical Award in 2003 for his contribution to *3 Musketiers*. Television viewers knew him as Detective Stan Vroom in *Flikken Rotterdam*, a series whose final season shoot had recently been completed. He leaves behind two children.
