Her film PAAZ was not selected under this system, despite attracting over one hundred thousand viewers. As a result, lead actress Gaite Jansen, who was considered a contender for the Golden Calf for Best Actor, is now completely out of the running. De Clercq argues that the current jury system excludes films in advance. She advocates for a festival that celebrates all Dutch films because this draws audiences to the cinema.
