*Al Baraneya* by Ashgan El-Hamus, a feature film debut produced by BALDR Film in co-production with CZAR Film & TV, SEE Media, and Red Sea Fund, has been selected for Giornate degli Autori, which takes place from September 2 to 12, 2026, parallel to the Venice Film Festival. The film follows the pregnant Amal and her family in the village of Al Baraneya, where the community comes under pressure when residents are given the opportunity to sell their land and Amal becomes increasingly drawn to life in the city. The production is supported by, among others, the Netherlands Film Fund, CoBO, and Creative Europe MEDIA.
