The Dutch film First Zone by director Thom Lunshof has been selected for the In Competition program of the Edinburgh International Film Festival 2026. The film is competing for the Sean Connery Prize for Feature Filmmaking Excellence. In First Zone, a woman lives in a wind turbine. A fierce storm tears her away from her home, prompting her to reflect on the meaning of that place. The film, produced by Makaki Productions, combines an intimate character portrait with striking imagery. Central themes are home, identity, and belonging. The festival takes place from August 13 to 19, 2026.
