Theo Warnier’s graduation film *De jaren des onderscheids* follows Niels (QiQi van Boheemen), a young writer finding her way in mature life. Warnier studied at the KASK in Ghent, where screenwriting and directing are inextricably linked. The film avoids technical quantification and builds meaning through small observations and everyday conversations. Warnier describes himself as a collector: almost everything in the film comes from reality or an abstraction thereof. He consciously relies on the viewer’s imagination. The film has been selected for the official competition of the Netherlands Film Festival.
