Peter Faber passed away on Thursday at the age of 82. He died peacefully from heart problems, surrounded by his loved ones. Faber rose to prominence with the lead role in *Max Havelaar* and subsequently played roles in *A Bridge Too Far*, *Soldaat van Oranje*, *Ciske de Rat*, and *Schatjes!*. In the early 1970s, he founded Het Werkteater. He played his last film role in 2023, alongside his son Jesse in *Sweet Dreams*. That film was selected as the Dutch Oscar entry a year later. Faber also appeared in *Medisch Centrum West*. In early July, he was admitted to hospital with heart problems that proved incurable.
