Andreea Ilinca made her debut with *Last Day of Season*, a graduation film from the Netherlands Film Academy. The film follows Ana, a young Romanian migrant worker, on the last day of the greenhouse season in Heemskerk. A documentary filmmaker films her while her father makes phone calls and her boss walks along as a translator. Ilinca, who herself moved from Romania to the Netherlands in 2018, based the idea on her experiences as a researcher on a documentary about migrant workers. The film offers no solutions but depicts the daily pressure to perform that migrants experience. *Last Day of Season* will be screened at the Netherlands Film Festival from September 25 to October 2, 2026.
