Dicky Parlevliet passed away on August 5, 2026, in her beloved Monteillet. For four decades, she was a central force behind IFFR. Mieke van der Linden writes a personal ode to her film comrade. Parlevliet began as an assistant to Hubert Bals and soon proved to be the power behind the throne, with an international network of directors and producers. Among other things, she coordinated Sergei Parayanov's historic visit to Rotterdam in 1988. Later, she worked at the VPRO, where she managed to get Thelma Schoonmaker in front of the camera, among others. At the beginning of this century, she returned to IFFR as a researcher and advisor to the Hubert Bals Fund.
