In Final Cut, Joeri Pruys reconstructs a forgotten chapter in Dutch broadcasting history. In 1975, Frans Zwartjes filmed Marina Abramović's performance Thomas Lips at De Appel. The NOS subsequently imposed a permanent embargo on the footage. Pruys tracked down the material and intertwines it with contemporary cases of self-censorship, including the withdrawal of Basma al-Sharif from IDFA and the Stedelijk Museum's refusal regarding Bakunin's Barricade. The film is having its world premiere at the Netherlands Film Festival and has been selected for the Golden Calf competition. IDFA previously rejected the film.
