Emma-Rose Thompson worked as a production assistant on series such as Red Light and The Spectacular before graduating from the Script Academy in 2022. She is currently writing Baantjer and developing her own sitcom through Torino Series Lab, together with producer Hanneke Bosman. For that sitcom, she put together a writers' room with stand-up comedians, which she found refreshing. Additionally, she is making the short dance film Live Like Corn Pops with producer Horacio Alcalá. Thompson writes intuitively and finds her strength in evoking emotion. Mentor Oscar van Woensel took her into the field early on, and Paula van der Oest offered her a spot in a writers' room for Netflix.
