Starting September 1, South African-Dutch co-productions can apply for a development grant for the last time via Thuthuka, an initiative of the NFVF and the Netherlands Film Fund. The program focuses on feature films, animated films, and documentaries with cinematographic potential for audiences in both countries. Producers of a majority-Dutch co-production can apply for a maximum of €40,000 for script development and a pitch book. A maximum of four projects will be selected, two from the Netherlands and two from South Africa. Participants will have access to workshops and networking opportunities. The submission deadline is October 6, 2026, at 5:00 PM CET.
