Minister Letschert has decided to revoke the broadcasting status of Ongehoord Nederland due to administrative misconduct. This misconduct concerns inadequate internal organization, poor cooperation with the NPO, and multiple sanctions imposed by the Dutch Media Authority. The editorial direction played no role in this decision. The NPO indicated that workable cooperation was no longer possible, after which Letschert took the most severe legal step. However, the voice of ON may continue to exist within the public broadcasting system. Letschert explicitly places the responsibility for this with the other broadcasters, who must incorporate this societal voice into their programming.
