Norway and the Netherlands presented their production capabilities during a session at TIFF: The Market. Meghan Beaton of the Norwegian Film Commission emphasized that extreme landscapes like Svalbard, with more than 400 productions in two decades, are easily accessible via over 50 airports. Norway offers a production incentive of 25% without a project ceiling. Roeland Oude Nijhuis explained that the Netherlands offers a rebate of 35%, capped at €3 million per project. Both commissions stated that international productions strengthen local expertise. Beaton cited Mer Film, the production company behind Joachim Trier's Sentimental Value, as an example of a Norwegian company currently using the incentive for international productions.
