The film "Queleh", initiated by the late Somali-Dutch filmmaker Abdi Jama, will be made after all.

The film is set in Somalia and is inspired by the director's younger years.

Director Abdi Jama disappeared after a night out in January 2009. In the period leading up to this, he had been fully engaged in the preparation of his first feature film. Weeks later, his lifeless body was found in the water of the Jacob van Lennepkade in Amsterdam, and preparations for the film were halted.

Some of the people who worked with JAMA later decided to try to make the film a reality after all. This week it became clear that the film is finally definitely going into production.

The film is produced by Flinck Film, of Amsterdam, and Arizona Films, Paris, under the direction of Abraham Haile Biru.
