ABOUT THE FILM
FLEELAND is an intimate, raw, and visually expressive short film about a woman trapped between the safety of isolation and the terrifying vulnerability of human connection. Set against the windswept, stark landscapes of Vlieland—from silent dunes and dense woods to open seas and isolated roads—the protagonist travels to escape her past, only to confront her deepest fears: grief, shame, love, and the anger she carries within.

It is a deeply introspective visual poem dealing with themes of emotional safety, trauma, self-preservation, and womanhood.

What we offer

LOOKING FOR: DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
We are seeking an empathetic, visually ambitious Director of Photography to bring FLEELAND to life.

Creative Vision: We are looking for someone with grand ideas for the visuals on the island, while maintaining a sense of closeness and warmth. The film needs to feel deeply intimate yet visually striking—balancing handheld raw emotion with the grand, textured scale of the Vlieland's natural elements.

Female / Non-Binary preferred: Due to the intimate nature of the story, personal themes surrounding womanhood, and scenes featuring partial/full nudity, I strongly prioritize female/non-binary crew for this role. People can also apply if they feel like this role is for them!

Job requirements / profile
REQUIREMENTS & PRACTICAL DETAILS
Comfortable filming delicate, vulnerable, and intimate scenes, as well as more willingness to shoot outdoors in natural elements (wind, beach, dynamic weather, ferry).

We can meet beforehand to discuss our ideas and to see if we are a match. I am in the area of the Hague/Rotterdam!

Available to shoot on Vlieland at the end of September/start of October.
