For the Smalspoormuseum Katwijk Leiden, we are making 'Het spoor van Oving': an adventurous short film of approximately eight minutes. During a museum visit, Mees is mainly focused on his phone, until he unexpectedly finds himself in the past. There, he meets director and dealer H. Oving. By helping out, he discovers the world behind the old locomotives. The film will be screened in the museum. All filming takes place on the museum grounds, both indoors and outdoors.
What we offer
A wonderful leading role in a short film at a unique location, amidst historic locomotives and workshops. You will act alongside a mature (amateur) actor and receive guidance from a small film crew. The story offers room for dialogue, humor, and action: Mees doesn't just look around, but also pitches in. The film will be given a permanent place in the museum. An expense allowance of 250 euros applies for two days. This excludes travel expenses.

Semi-professionele productie

Description
We are looking for a boy with a playing age of approximately twelve for the lead role of Mees. You will play a curious, contemporary boy who transforms from a distracted museum visitor into an enthusiastic explorer. You will have multiple dialogues with the actor playing Oving. We are looking for someone who speaks naturally, responds well to his co-star, and can convey wonder and humor. Acting experience is a plus; enjoyment of acting and the ability to follow instructions are important.
Period
Filming is scheduled for a maximum of two shooting days at the Smalspoormuseum Katwijk Leiden, in the vicinity of Lake Valkenburg. The exact shooting dates are yet to be determined and coordinated with the cast and the museum. Beforehand, we will organize an introductory meeting or short audition and a time to go through the dialogue. Please state your availability and any conflicts in your response. Supervision by a parent or guardian is desired during filming.
