In May 2011, Shooting Star Filmcompany began filming for the film Razend, based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Carry Slee. Afblijven, Timboektoe, Radeloos, and Lover of Loser had already been adapted for the screen previously. Like all other Carry Slee adaptations, Razend is being made in co-production with JustBridge and the KRO.

Razend is a gripping Carry Slee story, as always focusing on topical themes and thrilling romance. The story is about Sven and Rozemarijn, who are both confronted with profound problems and must help each other keep their heads above water.

The screenplay for Razend is being written by Dick van de Heuvel in collaboration with Maria Peters (Kruimeltje, Pietje Bell 1 & 2, Afblijven, Sonny Boy) and is directed by Dave Schram (Timboektoe, Radeloos, Lover or Loser). From October 2011, Razend will be in cinemas throughout the Netherlands.

The auditions for the lead roles begin at the end of January 2011.

For the film adaptation of Razend, the bar will be raised a little higher once again. It is going to be an exciting and, above all, spectacular film, based on a beautiful script, in which freestyle dance will also be an important element, and we are assured of the collaboration of none other than Roberto Da Costa (choreographer for So You Think You Can Dance, among others).
